The FESTIVAL Artist’s Book takes the reader on an intimate and sprawling journey through Josiah Golson’s multimedia project of the same name. In visual art, photo, text, and lyrics framed as an album booklet, Golson presents a story of adolescence, maturity, identity, and community as these themes are inspired and limited by the iconography of popular music. FESTIVAL invites the reader to explore Golson’s world-making strategies and to reflect on the power of their own.

The Album Version refers to the size of the book, which is about the size of an album book for an EP vinyl record at 12 x 12 in. There is also the 45 Version at 8 x 8 in, with less bonus content.
